So, my appointment tomorrow with the neurosurgeon has been cancelled AGAIN. I spoke with my regular doctor's office, and they assure me that the approval from the insurance company will be in on Friday, and that I can finally see the specialist next week. I'll call tomorrow to make the appointment- Please God, let the third time be the charm!

In other news, I started Weight Watchers right around the time I got sick. My father's hideous crazy girlfriend was constantly complaining to my father about how fat I was and how he had to do something. So when I could barely walk, he's dragging me off to Overeaters Anonymous. I hated it. All the talk about abstinence and higher powers, it just wasn't for me. So I compromised with Weight Watchers, which as it turns out I like much better and actually find helpful. Of course, it would have been nicer if I hadn't been pressured into it when I was in so much pain that I couldn't stand (or walk or sit). But now that I'm feeling better, I don't mind going.

I go to a 12 noon meeting on Fridays, and I quite enjoy it. I've lost about five pounds so far. I know it's not much, but it's a start. Part of the problem though is that I'm still having back problems, and it's limiting me in terms of exercise. I'm so afraid to aggravate the damaged spinal discs. I'd hoped that meeting with the specialist would enable me to set up an exercise plan that won't cause damage, but of course, I have to SEE the doctor to do so. So please everyone, keep your fingers crossed that I can get into the neurosurgeon's this coming week.

So does everyone else who's met her, excepting my father, of course. But so far he's kept away, thank God.

Good luck!!!! Espeically because sports really help with the back. As I've learned ;)

Thanks, Elli! I've heard that, too!

Five pounds? That's an excellent start, particularly considering how much pain you've been in and the state of your back.

Also, *fingers crossed.* Hope you get in and the doctor turns out to be a wiz at problem solving and curing his patients of back pain.

To be honest, it was the pain and injury that helped me lose weight- I had no appetite because of it, and even if I did, the kitchen was too far a walk for me! Go figure.

Thanks for your good wishes, sweetie. *hugs*
