A truly frightening afternoon
luvmax1
I cannot believe what happened to me this afternoon. I went to a 4PM showing of Spotlight at our local Cinemark theater. About an hour into the movie, the lights came up, and staff came in and told us we had to evacuate the theater immediately. We weren't allowed to just leave, either- we had to walk all they way across the huge parking lot and wait outside the mall entrance. After 45 minutes of just standing around, the cops made us actually go into the mall.

After fifteen minutes of that, we were finally allowed to leave. No one knew for sure what was going on. What we heard was "bomb threat", but the cops wouldn't say. We were allowed to go back to the theater, if we wanted, so we decided to go back and finish the movie (it was excellent).

I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility that someone called in or made some kind of threat. There have been so many movie theater shootings lately. I guess anything is possible.

So scary! We had a lockdown at my college once when someone called saying a person had a gun on campus. It was so scary.

I'm glad everything turned out okay.

Thank you, sweetie. So am I.

That is very scary. Glad nothing bad took place...
