He's Home!
Dad came home today, around 1:30 in the afternoon. So much for releasing him at 10 in the morning, but at least he's out of there.

There will be a nurse coming every day to give him his IV antibiotics for the next few weeks. They left in the port, so it should be easy enough. And he's not at full strength, so he has to take it easy. But Lord knows he's happy to be home, and I'm happy to have him here. As are the cats- Clyde and Denny haven't left his side in hours!

There's still a long road to recovery ahead, but I'm more confident and hopeful now that things will be alright. A lot of that has to do with all of my wonderful LJ friends, who've tried so hard to reassure and comfort me. Thanks to all of you!

YAYs! \o/ Wooo-hooo!

I love that the cats are glued to him!

They were a little leery at first, but once they got used to him again, they were like glue!

I'm so glad your dad is back home! Now you can relax a little bit. *Hugs*

It's been so great, Carol. ANd he seems so much better in just a few days.

Well, I've not been one of those wonderful LJ friends, and for that I'm so sorry. I can be pretty selfish when my own problems take hold, and I end up ignoring everyone else. Obviously you haven't had an easy time lately, and I'm ashamed to say I haven't been here for you, and that I don't know what happened to your dad. Andi, I know I haven't been here much lately, but if you ever want to vent you can email me anytime, okay? In my (tiny) defense, my own husband has been in the hospital, but he's out as well and doing much better. I hope the same is true for your dad.

I completely understand getting overwhelmed by personal situations, sweetie. No apologies needed. It's just nice to hear from you!

Dad is doing well. Sick at home for two weeks with what we thought was a virus, then 10 more days in the hospital to determine it was abcesses on his liver. He's doing much better, has more energy and appetite than he has in a long time.

So, what happened to your husband?

Abscesses, what is it with abscesses? My husband had an abscessed tooth that spread up into his eye and toward his brain overnight. The doctor told him that if he'd waited until the next day, he would have been dead. Scared the crap out of both of us.

Happy to hear your dad's doing better; I imagine that must have been painful. Hang in there, girl, I know it's not easy taking care of a parent by yourself.

Oh my God! I'm glad he's okay.
