I'm back!
150 bucks later, the computer is good as new. Apparently when this "scarewear" appeared, I pressed the wrong buttons, and actually let it download into the machine. Fortunately, Staples was able to remove it, and without losing any of my personal document and picture files. Thank God everything worked out in the end, but it was an expensive lesson to learn. Thank you so much to everyone who offered me advice and comfort- I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!

Yay for having your computer back! (Also, welcome home to LJ!)

Thank you so much! I just finished reading my friends page- I only had to go back 190 entries to catch up!

LESSON LEARNED! Was it Thinkpoint? I got caught by that one because I didn't have my glasses on and I thought it was an Adobe Flash-thingie update (same color & size). Now I'm terrified to update my Adobe Flash-thingie.

I can't remember what it was called, but I'm fairly sure it wasn't Thinkpoint. For what it's worth, I've updated my Adobe flash thingie with no problems.
