My new diabetes regimen is firming up. I can see where my trouble spots are, and when I see the doctor on Monday, she can hopefully adjust the insulin dosages again so I won't have so many high sugar numbers. I have to say, this past month has been a real eye opener. I've definitely improved my eating habits, which is something I should have done a long time ago. Checking my sugars four times a day is certainly making me pay attention.

Last night I saw the Sandra Bullock movie Gravity, which I thought was good, but not as great as everyone said. We saw it in 3D, I wasn't paying IMAX prices for a 90 minute movie, and really, 3D was fine. I don't see how any human person could survive what Bullock's character went through. I do have to say that Sandra and George Clooney were both fantastic, though.

I just started reading "And Sons" by David Gilbert. It's about a JD Salinger-esque elderly writer trying to come to terms with his 3 sons. It's been giving top marks by every reviewer out there, but I'm just not enjoying it. So much for best book of the year. I did recently read "Help for the Haunted" by John Searles, which has gotten much less media attention. I thought it was be a traditional ghost story, and it did have elements of it, but it was so much more than that. It was fantastic, and I highly recommend it.
